Accused of a Crime
If you are suspected of a crime, you have the right to be assisted by a defense lawyer (public defender or private defender) of your choice. You can contact the police before the interrogation is held and request that the lawyer you want will be appointed as your public defender. You can also contact us, and we will assist you in making the call to the police. It may happen that you or a family member is summoned to a police interrogation by letter or phone call, without receiving more information than just the time for the planned interrogation. Early contact with a lawyer is always preferable as it can improve your position. Calling us will ensure a valuable preparation since consulting a lawyer before going to an interrogation can clarify your rights during the interrogation. We are here to support and help you, and it is an important part of our work that you have confidence in your lawyer. We have extensive experience representing both young people and adults in both serious and minor criminal cases. For us, your situation and interests guide our collaboration, and we work as a team throughout the process. Your satisfaction and trust are our top priorities.
If you are not entitled to a public defender paid by the state, you can hire a lawyer as a private defender at your own expense. In the event of an acquittal, you may receive compensation from the state for defense costs.
Victims of Crime
If you have been the victim of a crime, you may be entitled to a victim support counsel. This applies primarily if you have been subjected to more serious offenses or sexual crimes. Domestic crimes are also generally covered by this right to assistance from a lawyer or advocate. You have the right to choose the lawyer of your preference. As your victim support counsel, we will provide you with advice and guidance during both the preliminary investigation—meaning prior to and in connection with any police interviews—and throughout the trial itself. We do everything we can to ensure you feel secure and well-prepared at every stage of the process. A vital part of our remit is also assisting you in pursuing compensation claims against the individual or individuals prosecuted for crimes committed against you. Consequently, you do not need to determine what is reasonable or submit documentation regarding claims and evidence to the court yourself; your victim support counsel will handle all of this on your behalf.
